I. APPLY FOR CONSTRUCTION PERMITS AND MANAGEMENT FEE PAYMENT
The Centre will help the Organizers get control over the transportation and contracting companies. The Organizer should inform all the transportation and contracting companies to submit the name list of the workers and effecting pictures of exhibiting booths for special purposes and effective operating certificates of special works within designated period of time prior to the move-in period to the Centre. The Centre will then make certificate for them. The contracting companies should carry out their work according to the floor plan approved by the relevant security department. No change is allowed without any permission.
II. FLOOR LOADS
Floor load capacities are as follows:
Exhibition Hall (level 1): 2 tones/m²
Exhibition Hall (level 2): 1 ton/m²
For exhibits with moving parts, the above mentioned floor load capacity shall be reduced by 50%.
These loads are to be taken into account for the installation of exhibits/displays and also for the handling of equipment and exhibits. Organizer and its contractors should consult the Centre prior to move in on any queries to avoid delay during operation of the Event.
III. BOOTH CONSTRUCTION AND DISMANTLING
1. The constructing company will not cause or permit any damage to be caused to the Exhibition Hall or alter or interfere with the building structure of the Exhibition Hall. The repair of such damages will be evaluated by the Centre and all charges for such repair shall be fully borne by the organizer.
2. All costs of constructions, installations and dismantling shall be carried out at the expense of the Organizer and shall be carried out in such a manner as not to cause unnecessary disturbance or disruption to the activities of other occupiers at the Centre.
3. No nails or screws shall be driven or holes drilled in the floors, walls, doors, pillars or other parts of the structure of the Exhibition Halls, Conference Rooms or any part of the building. Without permission, no work should be carried out in the lobby.
4. The Centre only allows the use of a residue-resistant single-sided and double-sided preferably cloth-backed tape for securing carpeting and other floor coverings to the concrete flooring. No adhesives are to be used on stone floors and walls.
5. The Organizer will be responsible for the removal of all tapes and residue marks within the License Area. Removal and damage incurred resulting from the use of non-recommended tape will be carried out by the Centre and charged to the Organizer. Adhesive-backed (stick-on) decals or similar promotional items are not permitted to stick on any part of the building. Any costs incurred by the Centre for the removal of these items and repair of any damage caused will be charged to the Organizer. Erasable chalk is acceptable for marking booth locations on the Exhibition Hall floor. An approved tape may be used and no other floor marking may be used. Removal of non-approved floor marking will be charged to the Organizer.
6. Erection of partitions or display boards which could hamper the fire protection system and the central supervising system and the air-conditioning diffusers and airflow inside the Halls/Rooms is not allowed.
7. Materials used for the construction of the exhibition booths should be non-combustible and shall have a minimum flame spread rating of Class 2.
8. Permanent false ceilings are not allowed.
9. Corridors leading to exit doors and all entrance should be kept clear of obstructions at all times. All exits will be kept unlocked during show hour or when the public is allowed into exhibit areas.
10. Any temporary structure erected to must allow a minimum clearance of 0.6 meters (4 feet) from the wall.
11. No more than 21 meters of booths in a row will be allowed. All passageway (aisle) must be at least 3 meters in width. Where there is a column in the passageway, a minimum aisle width of 3.5 meters must be maintained.
12. No objects are to be attached to or suspended from the fire sprinklers, communication wires, monitoring wires and light fixtures on the ceiling.
IV. ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE NSTALLATION
1. Constructing units should submit the drawings of design and construction of booth for special purposes to the center for examination and approval 2 weeks prior to moving into the centre. Otherwise, no construction will be permitted.
2. Companies responsible for main areas construction should submit all the orders attached with water, electricity and gas distribution plans to the center within designated period of days prior to entering the centre.
3. The setup electric circuit and equipment should be done by workers with valid certificate.
4. The wirings should use jackets for protection and their connectors must use dedicated connectors. Color wire is prohibited with the exception of lamp wire. Electricity lines across the channel should be protected across the bridge.
5. High temperature lamps are not allowed to be equipped without permission. The height of neon lamp should not be lower than 2.5m. And unless approved, can not be used.
6. The outside electric lighting equipment should be damp-proof.
7. The Centre is in charge of lighting installation and electricity connection work for all shell-scheme booths. Electrical appliance which needs 24 hours electricity supply should be applied to the Centre in advance. If you need to delay the cut-off of electricity, water, telephone and gas, please apply to the Centre beforehand.
V. FIRE REGULATIONS
1. All Organizers must comply with and ensure that all their agents, servants, employees, contractors and exhibitors etc comply with the prevailing government fire protection law and the fire safety regulations and building codes of the Centre.
2. Fire lanes in and around the Centre must remain clear and unobstructed.
3. Written approval must be obtained from the Shanghai Fire Safety Bureau for the following:
a) Display and operation of any heater, barbecue, heat producing or open flame devices, candles, lanterns, torches, welding equipment or other smoke emitting materials as part of the exhibit.
b) Display and operation of any electrical, mechanical, or chemical devices which may be deemed hazardous. If there is any question, if devices may be deemed hazardous, submit them to the appropriate controlling authorities for approval.
c) All toxic and hazardous material, including flammable liquids, compressed gas or dangerous chemicals.
4. Special care must be taken not to obstruct or hide from view the fire protection system, air conditioning, mechanical ventilation vents, fire safety equipment, fire hose reel/riser cabinets, fire alarm pull stations, house lighting fixtures and supervising systems.
VI. PAINTING
1. Major painting of displays and exhibition materials is not permitted in the Centre. However, “touch-up” painting of the displays and exhibition materials is permitted in the Exhibition Halls provided such work is undertaken during the Move-in Period only and all safety precautions and protective surface coverings are put in place.
These precautions include:
a) Painting in an area which is properly ventilated
b) Use of Non Toxic Paints
c) Covering the concrete floor with plastic overlaid with dry sheets.
d) No painting near the Centre’s vertical structure (i.e.: walls)
e) No washing of paint material within or surrounding the Centre.
2. The Organizer is responsible for any damage to the Centre that is caused as a result of painting and will be liable for the cost of reinstating the damaged area to its original condition.
